Personal Bio

I am a mom to four children.  Two girls born in 2006 and 2014.  Two boys born in 2009 and 2011.  I live in Blaine and serve families all over the Twin Cities area Minnesota.  I’m a Minnesota native but spent 6 years in Texas where I met my husband.  My husband and I have been married since 2004 and I’m grateful how he who supports me in this work.  I have a BS in Psychology with a Marriage and Family Emphasis, graduating in 2010.

My doula was influential in shifting my narrative around childbirth and was the start of my journey towards serving families as a doula. My personal experiences with pregnancy and birth were both challenging and empowering.  To hear those stories you would hear me talk about personal transformation, fear, courage, grief, and immense joy.  My experiences include moments of strength and weakness, empowerment and challenges, successful breastfeeding, and newborn care.  My desire to be a doula is rooted in those stories and a desire to support families during their life-changing journeys.  I have learned from each of the families I’ve worked with as a doula; it’s an honor to be in this work.

Some of my loves are beaches and rivers, travel, my community, books, laughing, and organization.

“If you’re looking to hire a doula for your birthing experience and want someone who is strong, kind, informed, a good listener, has a peaceful presence, and will make you feel empowered through birth and the beginning of motherhood, then hire Laura as your doula!”
